💜 I’m fundraising for Children’s Hospice Northern Ireland in honour of my cousin’s beautiful little girl, Lila - a amazing little girl at just over 2 and a half years old, who truly is a miracle.

Just before Lila was born, her mum & dad were given the devastating news that she may not survive. Yet from the very beginning, she has continued to defy every expectation placed upon her. Despite every challenge she has faced, she continues to show incredible strength, resilience, and determination every single day.

Lila spent the first weeks of her life in intensive care, and since then her journey has been filled with unimaginable battles. She has been diagnosed as blind with no light perception, profoundly deaf, has epilepsy causing multiple seizures daily, severe hydrocephalus, and a rare mitochondrial disease that is unfortunately life-limiting.

But Lila continues to prove everyone wrong.

Although she faces enormous challenges, she still communicates in her own special ways, responds to love and comfort, enjoys lights, cuddles, movement, and being close to the people she loves most. Every smile, every sound, every little moment is treasured beyond words by her family.

More recently Lila has spent several occasions on life support & has been cared for in the Royal Victoria Hospital & as of the last few weeks Lila and her family have moved to the Children’s Hospice in Newtownabbey. A facility that I had never gave a second thought to.

However this place has been an absolute lifeline to Hayley, Robert, Mila & Lila. Without this charity, they would still be sitting in the Royal with no privacy, no regular meals, no beds to sleep on & no personal support.

Watching my cousin and her family care for Lila with such strength, love, and devotion is truly inspiring. Families facing journeys like this rely so heavily on the support, care, and compassion provided by Children’s Hospice NI. The support they give to children with life-limiting conditions and their families is absolutely invaluable.

Simon, Daisy, Tom & I want to raise as much money as possible to support the incredible work they do, helping families create precious memories, access specialist care, and receive comfort during the most difficult times imaginable.

Knowing that this money raised will go directly to the hospice and stay within NI to help those children and families that need it most is just amazing.
