Story
I am seeking to raise money for the BHMT, to support community based mental health projects. The BHMT was established in memory of Dr Dominic Beer, a good friend, and a psychiatrist and leading light in the field of patients suffering severe mental illness. Dominic's nephew, Joseph Harris was a trustee and fundraiser until his tragic death at the age of 21, when the name of the trust was changed to reflect his memory also. I am seeking to honour the memory of these exceptional people, and to further the important work of the trust.
The Welsh 3000s is a long-distance walking challenge, encompassing fifteen 3000ft mountains across Snowdonia. The distance is roughly 50km, with 3,625m of ascent. The aim is to complete the challenge within 24 hours.
The start time will be around 4am in the morning on Saturday 10th June 2023! The route passes through three distinct mountain ranges, the Snowdon Massif, The Glyderau, and The Carneddau. As well as the walking, there are several scrambles (hands and feet both required!); the number of climbs, and the length of the challenge demand both mental and physical toughness, so I can't tell you how valuable your support will be in getting me through this!
Thank you for your generosity in supporting this worthy charity if you can: http://www.beerharrismemorialtrust.org/
