Story
On the 17th October a group of intrepid members of the SE team will be setting off on a 15 mile hike taking in a number of the Wainwright routes across the lake district. This will be the second year we have supported the Q4 charity with a walk, last year we were very grateful for your support and we are banking on your generosity yet again so please dig deep while we walk those hills and deal with whatever nature has to throw at us.
Sands work to support anyone affected by pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
Sands operates across the UK and Ireland: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives. Sands depends on the amazing energies of our supporters to raise the vital funds that they need to deliver the wide range of services that they offer.
They save babies' lives by amplifying the voices of bereaved families and healthcare professionals, campaigning for change in policy and practice, and funding research to understand why babies die.
They carry out vital work to improve maternity safety through targeted research, campaigning for change, working with government and reducing inequalities in healthcare to save babies' lives.
