Story
Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough. They provide care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families through this time.
The main reason for my fundraising for this charity is I have experienced first hand what Thorpe Hall can do for a person and their families in such difficult times. Both my grandad and uncle were unfortunate to be diagnosed with terminal cancer and in their final moments were cared for by Thorpe Hall. The care and support that they received during this time was nothing short of incredible and the support that not only they got but also us as a family trying to navigate through this difficult time was exceptional. In such a difficult time they support you in the medical help and advice they offer as well as just being a shoulder to cry on.
I know the incredible work they do here at Thorpe Hall and if by fundraising some money for this charity means another person gets that same care and support in their final moments, then it’s 100% worth it.
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters.
