Story
In honour of seven years of our miracle Olivia, I want to raise as much money as possible for SSNAP at the John Radcliffe Neonatal Unit by completing the Oxford Half Marathon this October.
SSNAP are the light and hope in a very dark tunnel when your newborn baby is taken onto the unit. In Olivias case she was attached to numerous tubes and wires with an utterly heartbreaking initial prognosis. Through seizures and brain scans, a ventilator and cooling therapy, Dan and I had the hardest conversations we will ever have. But through it all, SSNAP were ready to listen, comfort, ensure exhausted and worried families are fed, and their funds also go towards specialist equipment and nurse training for the unit. When I was told Olivia may never walk, I remember saying I'd sacrifice my own limbs for this not to be true. Of course she is thriving but me taking on this challenge is me finally putting my legs to the test! We will be eternally grateful for any amount you can kindly donate towards my fundraiser so that parents can continue to be supported and have the best possible care for their precious newborn babies.
Thank you so much for reading. Siobhan (and Dan, Amelia and of course Olivia ❤️)
