Story
Thank you for clicking through to our page! Our whole family are taking part in this year's Kiltwalk to raise funds for an amazing local charity called Carers of East Lothian.
I am doing the 20 mile Mighty Stride with a group of staff and volunteers from Carers of East Lothian. Peter, Sam, Ru and Hamish are going to do the 5 mile Wee Wander through Edinburgh, all finishing up at Murrayfield Stadium.
Both Peter and I have know from personal experience how phenomenally hard this role is and how much it takes from the carer, mentally, physically, financially, socially...
I have now seen first hand the life changing support the CoEL Carer Support Workers provide to people in all sorts of caring roles - families whose lives have been turned upside down by a sudden unexpected illness, or those who have been navigating the health and social care systems for years supporting someone with additional needs - Carers of East Lothian is there for everyone. From providing a listening ear, welfare and benefits support, grants and breaks, support groups and so much more.
Thank you for supporting us
