Story
There are at least 1.25 million (1 in 50) people in the UK with an eating disorder, and I’m one of them. I was diagnosed with and entered outpatient treatment for ARFID (avoidant/ restrictive food intake disorder), almost two years ago in November 2023. Without the support of Beat’s free services such as their helpline and online resources, I never would have received my diagnosis or found the support and treatment I so desperately needed.
I am fundraising as part of Beat’s 1-2-5 challenge, to be part of ensuring everyone with an eating disorder has access to the support they need. Starting 6th October 2025- I aim to read for at least 1 hour every day for 2 weeks, with the aim of finishing 5 books. To count towards the readathon a book must be over 125 pages!
I am extremely grateful for any donations or support. Although the recovery journey is long, I am in a much better place than I was two years ago and that would not be the case without the support and resources Beat provides. Any donation helps Beat to continue to provide that vital life saving support and outreach to those who need it.
Thank you.
