Story
I’m running a half marathon to raise money for The Big Space Cancer Appeal at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Now, because I work in fitness, I appreciate that a half marathon might not sound like a particularly challenging thing for me to do! But believe me, it is. Running 13.1 miles is going to push me, and I’m definitely going to have to work for every single mile.
I’ve chosen to raise money for The Big Space Cancer Appeal because cancer has affected people close to me, and I know how important the care and support provided by our local NHS can be to patients and their families.
The appeal is raising money for a brand-new cancer care centre at Cheltenham General Hospital — creating a bigger, brighter and more welcoming space for people receiving cancer treatment.
It’s about more than just a new building. The new centre will provide larger spaces for patients and their families, private rooms for important and often difficult conversations, peaceful areas to rest and recover, therapeutic gardens and modern facilities to support the incredible teams providing cancer care.
The current facilities have been caring for our community for more than 25 years, and this new centre will help transform the experience of cancer care for local people for generations to come.
£9.8 million has already been raised, which is amazing, but there is still a long way to go.
So if you’re able to sponsor me, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation, however big or small, will help create a better environment for people facing cancer and the families supporting them.
Thank you so much for supporting me — and for giving me an extra reason to keep putting one foot in front of the other when those final miles start to hurt! ❤️
