Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The 1st October 2025 marks international day for older people, The Leeds United Foundation’s Health and Wellbeing Department that I proudly work for has numerous sessions that work with Older Adults in care homes and community setting as well as at the Elland Road stadium. Our older adults are a huge part of our community, and they often get left behind or forgotten, it is my mission to help as many older adults as possible through the work we do at The Foundation. So, I have decided to set myself a challenge to raise funds for our Health and Wellbeing Department for all the fantastic work we do in care homes and our community settings. The challenge is to complete 11k per day for 24 days in October starting from the 1st of the month.
The reason behind picking 11k is because 1 in 11 people in the UK get diagnosed with Dementia and on a personal level and as on organisation, we have seen the devasting impact this disease has on families and loved ones to navigate through this horrendous illness. Then the 24 days represents the number of care homes we currently attend in and around Leeds as part of our sessions.
Please see my just giving link below. I know money is tight so completely appreciate if you cannot donate at this time but any support to this amazing cause would be greatly appreciated!
Il sharing my daily progress for you all to see! Let’s do this!!
