Story
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!
After taking a few years away from running, I've decided to lace up my running shoes and start training for the Hackney Half Marathon in May!
Alongside my amazing colleagues at the Dementia Research Centre, UCL, I am raising money for the National Brain Appeal's campaign to establish the world's first Centre for Rare Dementia Support. This will be a space for individuals diagnosed with a rare dementia and their families to receive support, education and be a part of a community that understands the unique challenges facing these individuals.
For the last two years, I have been working in the Rohrer Lab, where we have a specific focus on research looking at one of the rare forms of dementia called Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Throughout my time working on this research, I have had the privilege to meet and work with some of the most incredible people and families living with FTD. Currently, there are no treatments available for those with FTD but there is hope that more and more clinical trials will be starting up in the next few years. This centre will provide a wonderful space for these individuals as well as those living with other forms of rare dementia, to go and receive support after attending their research and clinical trials visits.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support. Any donation will help us to be one step closer to setting up this much needed Rare Dementia Support Centre.
All the best and thanks again,
