Way of Light 47 mile walk for St Cuthbert's Hospice

Steph Hall is raising money for St Cuthbert's Hospice

Way of Light Northern Saints Trails walk · 10 September 2025

St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides specialist care to people with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of life and the bereaved. We make no charge for our services, ensuring Hospice care is available to everyone. It costs over £2 million each year to keep St Cuthbert's Hospice running.

Story

We are all staff members and volunteers at St Cuthbert's hospice, walking from Heavenfield to St Cuthbert's in Durham over 5 days to raise funds for the hospice. We see the good that St Cuthbert's does for the community every day, and all feel very lucky to work there. Members of the public do brilliant work fundraising for us year in, year out, and we decided that it was time for us to join in!

We are going to be walking the Way of Light from Heavenfield to Durham Cathedral, and then continuing on to the hospice to finish there. The walk is a total of 47 miles, which we will be doing over a 5 day period between 10th-14th September.
