If you know me, you know my happy place is by the sea, somewhere warm and sunny, so this arctic challenge couldn't be further away from my comfort zone. But I'll be taking part as this cause is very close to my heart:

This year, reading for pleasure across all ages hit an all-time low, so the National Literacy Trust's work couldn't be more important. The NLT does great work to empower children, young people and adults with the literacy skills they need to succeed in life, working with individuals, schools and communities across the UK.

So in January, I'll be spending four days surrounded by snow, in the freezing cold of Lapland for the arctic challenge, supporting their vital mission by raising funds and awareness. Your contribution (even if it is your spare change!) can make a real difference in helping others find their voice through literacy.
