Steve's fundraiser for The Haemophilia Society

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
This is a cause and charity very close to our hearts, as haemophilia has had a significant impact on our lives over the past few years, and will continue do so going forward.
At 6 months old, my son and Amy's nephew, Calvin, suffered a life altering stroke by the way of a spontaneous bleed on his brain. After 48 terrifying hours of uncertainty, where Calvin lost significant movement in his right arm and leg, he was diagnosed with severe Haemophilia B, a blood clotting disorder that now requires a factor replacement injected twice a week.
The impact of the stroke will sadly affect Calvin's movement and cognitive development for the rest of his life, and with the increased vulnerability to bumps and falls that Haemophilia brings anyway, we are hoping to raise as much as possible for The Haemophilia Society, for the amazing work they do.
This support will aid with treatment and research into this condition, in the hope that Calvin and others will be able to lead as normal lives as possible in the future.
We've completed 8 half marathons between us (4 each) in the past (along with Amy completing the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge!) but this will present a new challenge for us both and any support to help us achieve our fundraising goal would be hugely appreciated.
