Our earliest years make the biggest impact and Home-Start London makes sure those years count so no child's future is limited - because childhood can't wait. Trained volunteers work alongside families in their homes. Their support makes a huge difference to parents and their children across London

Story

Let’s help Home-Start Croydon continue to support children and families

On Sunday 13th October I’ll be running a 10K race in Regent’s Park, London on behalf of Home-Start Croydon. A fantastic charity that supports families with young children under 5.

As many of you will know, parenting young children is difficult at the best of times and Home-Start Croydon supports families during the more challenging times: from being a lone parent, dealing with a history of trauma or abuse, physical and mental health challenges, loneliness and isolation, poverty and housing insecurity, you get the idea.

They offer support and friendship to navigate those important early years of a child's development.

My wife Katie has been involved in the charity for a number of years, initially as a volunteer and now working part-time for them. I’m incredibly proud of the work she does and how she goes above and beyond to support families in need.  Over the past year I’ve had the opportunity to get involved with some of their work and see how rewarding it can be. According to Katie I’m the runner in our family so I’m lacing up my running shoes to raise much needed funds for the charity.

I know I’m not running an ultra marathon or scaling a mountain but supporting Home-Start in this way will make a real difference to the crucial work they do.

I really appreciate any support you can give.
