Walk The Beat for PTSD
Campaign by Police Care UK (RCN 1151322)
The police find themselves in harm’s way protecting the public every single day. The physical and psychological scars of policing can take their toll on those who keep us safe, and if they are left untreated, they can carry those scars for life.

Story

With 1 in 5 police potentially living with PTSD, more help is needed to mitigate the impact of repeated exposure to trauma in policing. While raising much-needed funds to help treat and support those affected with specialist trauma and psychotherapy treatments.

I will walk to work on Friday June 27th, a distance of about 13 miles, my 14yr old son wants to help and he will walk to school on Thursday 26th, about 5 miles. As a serving officer with over 30 years service I am fully aware of the strain and toll that being an officer can cause. With a recent diagnosis of Complex PTSD myself the support of family is a real lifeline

Every step of your support helps police, and their families, who are living with trauma through steps of recovery.
