Story
On the 12th September, I'm taking on the Pilgrim's Reckoning - an 81 mile run along the Bunyan Trail in Bedfordshire.
I'm doing this to support HopeWorks UK, the charity I work for, which walks alongside those facing homelessness, displacement, isolation, poverty and crisis. HopeWorks acts as hub of hope in Bedford, practically support and encourage clients to learn and know that they hold value and worth and from that place can know hope of a better future ahead!
Restore // Rebuild // Reimagine
Last year I was diagnosed with cancer after various health concerns and it turned my world upside down. It allowed me to get a glimpse of what it's like to be in a mess and not see a way out... this makes the challenge more real for me as I use what I can do (walk/run) to illustrate the walk that clients go on from distress into hope.
I've been waiting to do a Fundraiser that would be a real test... and the 81 miles increases my heart rate just thinking about... (help!)
The challenge feels especially fitting in Bedford. Centuries ago, John Bunyan walked these paths while writing Pilgrim's Progress – a story of struggle, perseverance, and hope. Today, those same themes still echo through our streets as many people face difficult journeys of their own.
You're not doing this for me, but every £ raised will make sure you're doing it with me!
If you're able to sponsor me, thank you. Together, we can help ensure that no journey has to be walked alone.
