Sue's virtual Swim to Lundy Island in aid of Holy Trinity Church repair fund

I'm attempting to swim the distance from Ilfracombe to Lundy Island (23miles) over a few weeks (hopefully 5 or 6!), some in the sea and some in the pool

Holy Trinity Church is a Grade 1 listed building with parts of the tower dating back to Saxon times. Ilfracombe's parish church, it is a vital part of our community and a building of great historical interest and importance. The Parochial Church Council works to maintain this beautiful building which, like so many ancient structures, needs constant maintenance and repair. Our current priority is the church roof which requires extensive and urgent work. We undertake a variety of events, from rock and choral concerts to quiz nights, to raise funds for the church and provide an important social resource for our community.

Story

Holy Trinity Church in Ilfracombe has been a centre of worship, refuge and comfort for over a thousand years. In order to continue to serve the community we are raising funds to provide accessible toilets and kitchen facilities as well as essential repairs to the structure, and the installation of solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint.

I am attempting to swim the distance (23 miles) between Ilfracombe and Lundy Island in stages over 5-6 weeks. This will be completed partly in the sea and partly in the local pool. If I was to do the whole distance in the pool it would be 1,472 lengths.

I would be most grateful for any donation, however small!
