This year, I set myself a challenge to take part in the McCain’s 10k race this October. Although I have run in the past, it’s been a good few years, so getting back into training while grieving has been quite a challenge.

As many of you know, we sadly lost my beautiful Mam to cancer in September 2025. I wanted to do something special in her memory, something that would make her proud.

The race I’m taking part in supports a number of charities, and I have chosen The Thalia-Beau Foundation. My Mam absolutely adored little kids—“bairns,” as she would say—so I know she would be proud that, in her memory, I am raising funds for this wonderful charity, in honour of another very special angel, Thalia-Beau.
