Story
Supajam Education in Music and Media college have been collaborating with Stepping Stones Preschool over the last year and our students's have developed fantastic relationships with the staff and children of the preschool .
On Wednesday 24th May students from Supajam and the children of Stepping Stones will be joining together for a sponsored Litter Pick in the local area to raise money for the Preschool . We will be covering the area from Oaten Hill to Dane John park.
Why are we doing this?
Like most early years settings across England, the income from government funded childcare places and fees has not covered the preschools expenditure for very many years and they have had to self-fund this substantial shortfall through fundraising activities and by using their charity reserves. This position was never sustainable; and they have now reached a point where it is entirely untenable.
Stepping Stones has served Canterbury's children and families for 55 years and they want to continue to do so for many years to come. However, their projection is that they will run out of money by next year unless there is a significant change in government policy or can raise enough money from fundraising. So they need your support now to stay open.
Please donate - this event will help to clean up the local area and most importantly help to keep an amazing preschool open.
