Story
This Summer, I am trekking up Mount Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa on 28th June with the aim of raising much needed funds for "Scoliosis Support and Research".
Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine and out of every 1000 children, three to four will need support from a scoliosis specialist and in many cases this can be a life changing condition.
As a 12 year old, I was one of these children. I sat in a doctors office, being told my spine had gone (very) wonky and that I would be needing multiple major surgeries to treat this condition. I went on to have two spinal fusions to correct my curves, and this experience has been a defining part of my life.
Since then my titanium bars and bolts (all the way from T3 to L4) have taken me all over the world and back - next stop Wales! I may lack the flexibility to tie my own hiking boots on a bad day, but I can't wait to take on this challenge with a great group of people who have had similar experiences to mine.
Together, we aim to raise funds to support those with scoliosis and fund much-needed research into this condition. Any little help counts toward my target of £500, and I'd really appreciate any support you can give.
