Hello! Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

As you will know, because I'm telling everybody, I'm doing a 200 mile, four-day bike ride for Become, the national charity for children in care and young care leavers. We're going from Chelmsford to Norwich, via Ipswich, Lowestoft and the North Sea coast.

I'll be joining the brilliant Biking for Children in Care (BfCiC) group, which has been fundraising for Become by doing a long annual bike ride for the past 22 years, raising over £1m in the process.

I work for Become in the comms team, so I have first-hand knowledge of how that money has changed the lives for so many young care-experienced people. Become offers specialist care and advice, free coaching and help accessing higher education and quality employment. It also offers training to adults and professionals working in the sector, delivered by care-experienced young people, so they can better understand what being in care is like when you're on the end of it and improve practice.

Become also works with care-experienced young people to campaign for a better children's social care system. I see the positive impact it has on the young people when they're listened to, able to share their experiences with decision makers and bring about structural change. As one young person put it, working with Become allows them to turn their pain to purpose.

Your donation will help change more young lives, those of young people who've often had years of upheaval, living miles from the people and places that matter to them and then be expected to be independent, on their own in every way, the minute they turn 18.
