Story
In the UK over 300,000 children experience the death of someone close in childhood.
This year Grief Encounter celebrates its 20th Anniversary, acknowledging the legacy of supporting so many children, young people and families who have been affected by the pain of grief. This June as the charity CEO, I am taking part with special family memories in mind, remembering my own Dad who would have cherished all of the babies who came into our lives last year and without whom life now would be totally unimaginable.
At Grief Encounter, we know only too closely that life doesn’t always afford only too many of us, the blessing of a long and healthy life.
So, this June, I dedicate this challenge in sweet memory of little Cody, whose life was far too short and to her special Dad in my heart always, who faced her death at far too young an age himself and bravely carried on. I also acknowledge all those friends and families, too many of whom have found themselves having to face the unimaginable and bravely carry on providing care and consideration for the children left carrying grief besides them.
And so to the challenge of the iconic 54-mile London to Brighton cycle ride, your support and encouragement, please donate, follow or share not just to encourage me, but to make sure i do my best to make the best of a difference.
Please donate, share and follow to cheer me on - this is for all those children and families who have to learn far too early ton how to live with the pain of tragedy and longing
