The Longest Game - Guinness World Record
Campaign by Wooden Spoon (RCN 326691 (England & Wales), SC039247 (Scotland))
In June, over a day and a half, 92 men and women came together to raise as much as they could for LooseHeadz, Wooden Spoon and the Lions Trust by aiming to break the record for the longest games of rugby. They did it!

Story

Dear family and friends, as you all know, rugby has played a big part in my life #rugbyislife!. As a sport rugby has given me many great experiences, highs and lows, and allowed me to meet some brilliant individuals and helped shape the person I am today. As my playing days are coming to pass I am dedicating my time and energy to use the sport as a vehicle to bring about meaningful change by challenging myself to do the extraordinary.

This June I am taking part in a Guinness World Record attempt, by playing in the Longest Rugby Game for 36 hours!! This will truly offer me an amazing opportunity to challenge myself. In order to achieve this challenge I will joining 92 men and women this June, to make this happen.

With your help, I am challenging myself not only on the pitch, but off it as well, to raise £1,500 for 3 amazing charities - Wooden Spoons, Loose Headz and The Lions Trust! The aim is to collectively raise over £100,000.

LooseHeadz and Wooden Spoon in partnership with the Lions Trust are aiming to break two Guinness World Record with concurrent games for men and women. The target to beat is currently 30 hours 29 minutes 41 seconds for a men’s game and for the women’s record is 24 hours, 5 minutes, and 15 seconds.

The aim is to raise over £100,000 – Myself and these brave or foolhardy players need your support.

Here’s the great causes we’ll be supporting:

LooseHeadz is rugby’s mental health charity on a mission to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health and provide dedicated leads for rugby clubs to help players talk openly about what can be a challenging subject. LooseHeadz provide partner rugby club with a toolkit of free resources to support the mental fitness of players, coaches and supporters.

Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby who fund life-changing projects across the UK & Ireland supporting children and young people living with disabilities, those disadvantaged or disenfranchised. Projects include specialist playgrounds, sensory rooms, educational programmes and specialist adapted sports equipment.

The British & Irish Lions Trust exists to connect with, nurture and support all Lions players in need, whilst furthering the spirit, values and ethos of The British & Irish Lions throughout rugby clubs across England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
