Story

My name is Tarlok and I am 70 years old. Despite having two knee replacements, I will be cycling 350 miles from Scotland to Birmingham to raise money for the Sikh Helpline. This year, I would like to cycle in memory of my niece Harsha who tragically and unexpectedly died in May 2024.

About Harsha...

Harsha lit up a room when she entered it, with a laugh that was so infectious it made the whole room light up. She loved her friends and family dearly and did anything to support the people she cared for. She strived to be better, never gave up, and worked at progressing her life (often in the face of adversity). Those closest to her saw first hand how all her hard work was paying off. She had a mentality rarely seen in people her age.

She was tragically taken away from us without warning at the age of 34. Nothing will take away the pain my brother Ken, his wife Gemma and their children Josh and Cherry feel at this loss, but I hope by remembering Harsha though each of these miles cycled, it will remind us all what a wonderful person she was.

Support the Sikh Helpline: Every Pedal Counts!

This year, funds from the 350-mile Pro Bike Ride will help provide crucial mental and emotional support to those in need. In 2025, the Sikh Helpline received thousands of calls, with many seeking help for abuse, sexual violence, and hate crimes. We support people facing mental health challenges, domestic violence, substance misuse, bullying, racism, and more. With the rising cost of living, every penny raised ensures we can be a voice of reassurance in someone’s darkest moment.

Cultural stigma stops many from seeking help until it’s too late. Demand is growing, and every call matters—sometimes, it's a person’s only chance to reach out. No call should go unanswered.

Please Help!

Please help us be there for those with nowhere else to turn. Every pedal you push represents a call for help. Together, we can make a difference!
