In July 2026, up to 100 grocery colleagues from across the industry including 8 from Sainsbury's will embark on an incredible three-day cycling challenge, pushing their limits both physically and mentally, to raise vital funds for their industry charity, GroceryAid.

Over three days, the team cycle 230 miles & will conquer 15,500 ft of elevation - cycling between 70-90m per day on & around the border between England & Scotland taking in part of the Tour de France 2027 route & the Devils Elbow!

Now a little about who we are raising money for: GroceryAid provides financial, emotional and practical support for colleagues & their families in the grocery industry.

In 24/25 they supported colleagues on over 139,000 occasions +76% YoY spending over £6.5million including helping 6,667 children go back to school in September 2024 with the right equipment and clothing, through their School Essentials Grant.

Their free and confidential Helpline saw a 3% increase in calls from colleagues looking for emotional and practical support, and qualified counsellors provided more than 5,300 in-the-moment counselling sessions to colleagues throughout the year.

They also saw a 60% increase in colleagues accessing legal advice, and over 1,900+ colleagues accessed online self-help and CBT guided sessions.
