Team Jacob - Every Day in May for Dravet Syndrome UK

Jenny Alger is raising money for Dravet Syndrome UK
Every Day in May for Dravet is back for 2026! Go it alone or build a team to walk run, cycle or swim 5km or 2km every single day throughout May, at a time and place to suit you.

Story

We are Team Jacob - 16 family and friends, coming together from across the UK, The Netherlands and as far as New Zealand, to raise awareness of Dravet Syndrome worldwide. Throughout May, we will be running, walking, cycling, or swimming 2km or 5km every single day to support those affected by Dravet Syndrome 💜

11 year old Jacob was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome at 15 months old after a terrifying stay in intensive care due to a prolonged seizure that required life support. Whilst Jacob takes 6 anti-epilepsy medications twice daily to help control his seizures he has endured this ordeal ten times.

Dravet Syndrome is a rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy. The condition is often accompanied by additional challenges including autism, feeding difficulties, and communication issues. Jacob has a Vagus Nerve Stimulator implanted in his chest which sends regular electrical impulses to the brain, he is fed through a tube in his stomach, and although mobile, he relies on a wheelchair for daily life.

Despite everything he faces, Jacob is one of the happiest boys you could ever meet 😃. He’s cheeky, mischievous, full of charm, and loves people, music, and bubbles.

We are raising money for Dravet Syndrome UK because they have supported our family from the very beginning. They fund vital research, provide life-saving equipment to families, and create a lifeline and a community connecting people so no one feels alone

Please follow, share, and support us if you can. Every donation, no matter how small, helps make a difference to families like ours. If you are able to donate please where possible select gift aid.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Let’s raise awareness. Let’s support families. Let’s make a difference
