Story
I am taking on the iconic Great North Run again this September. I'm running to support Children North East's life-changing services for babies, children and young people across the North East.
As you may know, Children North East feature heavily in lots of the work and noise I make around poverty. They also feature as a standalone chapter in the book I co-authored with others earlier this year.
Some of the ways in which the money raised will be used...
• A child supported through mental health crisis, when they had no where else to turn for support.
• A young person gaining the skills and opportunities that will help them create a brighter future for themselves.
• A family offered professional help to find stability and rebuild after experiencing trauma.
• Supporting the development of poverty-informed practice in schools around the UK
And as an extra bonus... I'm wearing more lbs than I'd like to this year. So, I'll be wearing some form of super-hero attire on the day to burn even more calories and dignity off on race day!!
Thank you for your support!
