Story
Two brothers. Three mountains. One reason.
This year, our two boys - Sylv (10) and Frank (7) - are taking on something most adults wouldn’t even attempt.
They’re climbing the UK’s three highest mountains in just three days.
Not for a medal.
Not for a record.
But for their mum.

She lives with Crohn’s disease.
It’s a condition that doesn’t switch off. Some days are manageable. Others are exhausting, unpredictable, and invisible to everyone else.
But like so many people living with Crohn’s, she just gets on with it. Quietly. Strongly. Without fuss.
As a family, we see what that really takes.
And the boys wanted to do something that mattered.
So they’re climbing mountains.
What they’re taking on
The UK Three Peaks Challenge means climbing:
- Ben Nevis (Scotland)
- Scafell Pike (England)
- Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon (Wales)
We’re doing it properly, and safely:
- One mountain per day
- Daylight climbs only
- Fully prepared
- At the boys’ pace
This isn’t about speed or records.
It’s about showing what’s possible when you keep going - even when things are hard.
Why this matters
Crohn’s & Colitis affects over 500,000 people in the UK.
It’s lifelong. It’s often misunderstood. And many people suffer in silence.
Every donation helps to fund:
- Research into better treatments
- Support for families
- Awareness so people don’t feel alone
And a little extra…
If the boys hit their fundraising target, they’ve agreed to make it even more real.
They’ll spend their first night in a remote mountain bothy - no comforts, no shortcuts - and film the whole experience so you can follow the journey properly.
The highs, the struggles, the reality of it (you will be able to find the final edit here: https://www.youtube.com/@sylvshredz).
If you can help
Whether it’s £2 or £20, every donation genuinely makes a difference.
And more than that - it shows two young boys that what they’re doing matters.
That effort matters.
That kindness matters.
That doing something hard, for someone you love, matters.
Thank you so much for your support 💚

About Crohn's & Colitis UK
We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis.
Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. And the real number could be almost double that.
Because of the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these diseases, thousands of people are suffering in silence.
But they’re not alone.
We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into a cure; to raise awareness and to give people hope, comfort and confidence to live freer, fuller lives.
