St Ann's New Hospice
Campaign by St Ann's Hospice (RCN 258085)
We've been caring for people in Greater Manchester and Cheshire for more than half a century, and we have big plans for the future. We need a new, purpose-built hospice that will serve the needs of our community now and in the future.

Story

On Saturday 2nd August, the eight grandchildren of late footballer Ian Spider Mellor, will be lacing up their trainers and running from Old Trafford to the Etihad Stadium — a route with meaning, chosen to honour their beloved grandad.

They’re taking on this challenge to remember and honour their incredible grandad and also to raise money for St Ann’s Hospice — the place that cared for him with such compassion and dignity during his final weeks.

The end fundraising goal is to have a room named after their grandad at the hospice: a calm, comforting space where families can find peace and share precious final moments together — just as Spider’s family were able to do.

Spider’s grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy, and coming together like this to honour his memory is something truly special.

Please support them if you can — every donation helps create a lasting legacy for a man who meant so much to so many.
