This July, we're taking part in the BHS Rideathon because spending time outside with our horses really matters to us.

Across the team, we're aiming to cover 1,000 km and to raise £1 for every km - £1,000.

It gives us the chance to get fresh air and enjoy the countryside together. Those moments on bridleways and tracks help me and my horse relax, build confidence and feel safe away from traffic.

But it is getting harder to take that freedom for granted. Gates seize up or are impossible to open from the saddle. Bridleways become so overgrown that they are no longer passable. Routes we once used easily are suddenly out of reach, meaning fewer safe places to ride and enjoy time with our horses.

The money we raise will help keep off-road routes open, safe and accessible — not just for horses and riders, but for everyone who values access to the countryside.
