Story
On May 16th I will be doing the Duchenne Dash to raise funds for Project GO (a family fund set up by Nick and Kirsty raising money for Duchenne UK) following the devestating news in 2017 that both of their beautiful boys have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Alongside Nick and Olivier I will be cycling from London to Paris in 24 hours battling the distance (300+km), sleep deprivation (grabbing a couple of hours sleep on the overnight ferry) and the emotions of riding alongside great friends and the extended dash family to raise funds for this vital cause.
Any donation you can make provides a glimmer of hope for those families impacted by a DMD diagnosis which is priceless and a commodity that is in short supply for families impacted by the disease.
DUK take an innovative and sharply focused approach to fighting Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy from every angle. This involves four key areas of work: funding groundbreaking medical research, accelerating access to treatments, improving lives through technology, and ensuring everyone in the DMD community is given the care and support they need.
Over the past 10 years, the Duchenne Dash has grown into Duchenne UK's biggest and most challenging fundraising event, raising more than £5.5 million for DMD research. Team Project GO completed their first Dash last year, and they were delighted to raise more than £16,000 for Duchenne UK. It was an incredibly inspiring event, and the need for more funds and awareness for all boys with Duchenne has never been more urgent. So Nick is being joined again by Tom, and debutant Olivier (Owen and George's uncle) and they ride to Paris once again. Thank you all so much for your vital support.
