The TCS New York City Marathon represents the best of New York—when all New Yorkers come together to support each other and cheer on their neighbors.

For the eighth year, United Way of Long Island was selected as a charity partner for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon.

This will be my first marathon and I am excited to take on the challenge.

My prior experience running includes a handful of 5Ks and running for the Marine Corps fitness test.

Through Pal-O-Mine Equestrian and the work we do there with our veteran/first responder programs, I was asked to run for Team Mission United in the marathon. As a veteran and former first responder myself, I was honored to take up the cause. Our fundraising goal before the marathon is $3,000. So if you're like me and want to give back to the veteran/first responder community, any little bit helps, and thank you so much.

4/23 - To prepare I have started with either jumping rope, sprints, or short-distance (1-3mi) jogging. To aid in building my endurance I will be including weight training at least 4 times per week.

4/24 - Jump rope 2min/1min work/rest (10 min total work); kettle bell workout.
