Story
I’m raising money for the Walk 4 ALICE because far too many of our neighbors in Collier and Monroe counties, and across the country, are working hard every day and still struggling to cover the basics: rent, childcare, food, healthcare, transportation, and more. Many earn too much to qualify for public assistance, yet not enough to keep up with the rising cost of living in our region. These are ALICE families: Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed.
ALICE is the backbone of our community. They are our first responders, childcare workers, restaurant servers, healthcare workers, nonprofit staff, hotel employees, landscapers, and so many more.
For families living paycheck to paycheck, one unexpected crisis, such as a flat tire, a medical bill, or a hurricane, can change everything. That’s why United Way of Collier and the Keys steps in with emergency support and long-term solutions that help families stay stable and keep moving forward.
I’m walking for ALICE to support the critical work of our United Way so ALICE households don’t just survive, but truly have the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for supporting this cause and walking for ALICE with me!
