Story
This summer, I am swimming the English Channel in a relay team to raise money for Cosmic, a charity supporting Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
I am so proud to be swimming for something that brings together my past and present. Swimming has been a big part of my life from a very young age, and I went on to compete in finswimming during my teenage years. In recent years, it has become something I turn to for my wellbeing – a place where I reconnect with myself, breathe, and find perspective. Water healed me, shaped me, inspired my physio career and gifted me peace when the world felt too loud. Every swim, every second in the water reminds me of the powerful mind-body connection we share. As a physiotherapist and a researcher working with critically ill patients, I see first-hand the complexity of recovery and the challenges faced by both patients and their families. It is vital to support the wider system, not only the individuals receiving care but also the families and staff who carry so much through it all.
I am incredibly grateful for water sports and water, it gave me strength when I needed it most, and I'm honoured to be able to pay it forward to help others survive and thrive. Please support this cause, every pound makes a difference.
Thank you so much💙
