Great South Run 2025 · 19 October 2025 ·

The Great South Run Weekend is an exciting weekend that brings together runners of all abilities to take part in races through Portsmouth's iconic landmarks. By running for Rowans, you are supporting local Hospice care.

Story

To Alex and Nigel!

We are running on behalf of my little sister Alex who sadly passed away in February with cancer. She fought so hard for many years and never gave up the fight. I will be joined by Craig and Kim (my friends) and Nicole my lovely step sister who has been a rock to all. Any donation would be greatly received and I can't speak highly enough of Rowans in the final care for my sister. Thanks. We are also running for my loved step brother Nigel who again succumbed to cancer and all those that have effected by this dreadful disease .They will be missed, but never forgotten.

Rowans Hospice receives a very small level of statutory support from the Government, however, almost all of the money required to provide our services needs to be raised through legacies, individual donations, fundraising events, the Charity's lottery and our Retail shops.

By taking part in the Great South Run Weekend and 'Running for Rowans', you will be directly supporting the delivery of our services now and into the future.
