Story
The Charity's reliance on income from voluntary donations and fundraising events remains vital to the future of local Hospice care. The soaring costs of energy and living could have a devastating impact on us and many other Hospices across the UK, and the people we care for. Collectively, we face more than £100 million in additional costs this year alone
We are running on behalf of my little sister Alex who sadly passed away in February with cancer. She fought so hard for many years and never gave up the fight. I will be joined by Craig and Kim (my friends) and Nicole my lovely step sister who has been a rock to all. Any donation would be greatly received and I can't speak highly enough of Rowans in the final care for my sister. Thanks. We are also running for my loved step brother Nigel who again succumbed to cancer. They will be missed, but never forgotten"
Rowans Hospice receives a very small level of statutory support from the Government, however, almost all of the money required to provide our services needs to be raised through legacies, individual donations, fundraising events, the Charity's lottery and our Retail shops.
By taking part in the Great South Run Weekend and 'Running for Rowans', you will be directly supporting the delivery of our services now and into the future.
