Story
On 17th January 2025 I was discharged from hospital after a 3 month stay following a bleed on my brain caused by a Cavernoma.
During those 3 months I lost the ability to swallow, breathe, speak & walk. At one point in particular it wasn’t sure if I’d make it out of hospital at all.
Having received such excellent care at Dorset County Hospital and then Kings College Hospital, receiving numerous treatments and physiotherapy I was able to start gaining back what I had lost and made it home to continue my rehabilitation.
2025 was definitely a wild card year for me, but I’ve learnt a lot and come a long way. I will be forever grateful for the support, encouragement and love shown by my family and friends and I will always be in awe of the continued resilience and strength shown by my partner Ruth. Her love and support really did keep me going through the darkest of times.
Fast forward one year and I’ve decided, along with Ruth to raise some money for The Cavernoma Alliance. What better way to give something back and test out my newly rediscovered abilities than by joining their Snowdon climb on 6th June this year.
Any money at all raised is obviously very gratefully received, but I’m doing it regardless. Because I can x
