Lloyd Park Children’s Charity’s Fundraising Fortnight · 17 April 2023

In 2025 to 2026, the Mayor of Waltham Forest, Cllr Tony Bell, will fundraise in support of three vital, local charities; Highams Park Food Hub, Haven House and Walthamstow Wetlands. The mayor will continue his efforts to raise awareness of the importance of fellowship and nature. Thank you.

Story

Each year, the council elects a councillor to serve as mayor for twelve months. We’re delighted that Cllr. Karen Bellamy was elected for 2022/23.

Each mayor chooses two organisations, whose work is close to their heart, to support for the year.

Cllr Bellamy explains why she chose the Whipps Cross Hospital Breast Clinic and Solace Women's Aid.

“I accepted the position of Mayor this year for a couple of very personal reasons. Firstly, on New Year’s Eve 2020 I was diagnosed with breast cancer; and secondly, in a long past relationship, I was the victim of domestic abuse. My aims, as Mayor, are to shine a light on both issues and, through charitable donations received, to help others who are experiencing either or both”.

As a long-standing admirer of Cllr. Bellamy’s grassroots community work, Lloyd Park Children’s Charity will be supporting her chosen organisations with a fortnight of fundraising and awareness raising.

We strongly believe that the work carried out by these charities has a huge impact on our communities in Waltham Forest. Please help support if you can and donate today!
