Story
Hello everyone,
I am a dedicated firefighter with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, preparing to take on two grueling endurance challenges—the Backyard Ultra and the Ring O’ Fire Race—on 4 September 2026. These events are not just personal tests of strength and resilience; they are powerful opportunities to raise vital funds for the Fire Fighters Charity, a remarkable organization that provides lifelong support to firefighters, former firefighters, and their families. This charity is essential in offering physical rehabilitation, mental health support, and recovery assistance for injuries sustained both on and off duty. It truly stands as a lifeline for those who risk everything to keep us safe.
The Backyard Ultra will push me to run 6.7km every hour until I can no longer continue, while the Ring O’ Fire Race will see me covering an intense 65 miles as part of a team challenge. Alongside supporting the Fire Fighters Charity, I am also proud to champion two other incredible causes: SARAID, which delivers international search and rescue and disaster response efforts, and Operation Florian, which provides lifesaving equipment and training worldwide.
These challenges will test my body and mind in ways few can imagine—but they pale in comparison to the daily battles faced by those these charities serve. Your support can make a real difference in their lives. I am aiming to raise £250 to help sustain these vital services.
If you feel moved by this cause, please consider donating. Every contribution brings us closer to ensuring that firefighters receive the care they deserve when they need it most. Together, we can make an extraordinary impact.
