Hi everyone,

My name is Toby Quinnell, and I’m a firefighter with Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. I’m taking on two endurance challenges to raise money for three incredible charities that I’m proud to be personally involved with.

I don’t just support these charities I work and volunteer for them and I’ve seen first hand the impact they have.

The Challenge

To raise money, I’ll be pushing myself further than ever before with:

Backyard Ultra – Running 6.7km every hour, on the hour, for as long as I can physically keep going

Ring of Fire Ultra – Completing 65 miles my part in team effort to complete 130 miles!

Both events will test my physical and mental limits (hopeful no hallucinating this time) but they’re nothing compared to the challenges faced by the people these charities support.

The Charities

🌍 SARAID

SARAID is a UK-based international search and rescue charity that responds to disasters around the world. I’ve had the privilege of being involved with their work and contuine to train and get ready to qualify this septemeber after 2 years!

🚒 The Fire Fighters Charity

As a firefighter, this charity is incredibly close to home. They support firefighters and their families through injury, illness, and mental health challenges providing vital rehabilitation and recovery services. we get to help you but sometimes we need somone to help us!

🔥 Operation Florian

Operation Florian supports fire and rescue services in developing countries by providing equipment, training, and expertise. I’ve personally deployed to Zimbabwe with Operation Florian, where I saw firsthand the difference this support makes helping firefighters do their job safely and effectively, often with very limited resources.

Why I’m Doing This

These charities aren’t just names to me they’re my organisations and ones im proud to be apart of. That’s why I’m putting myself through these challanges to give something back and help them continue their incredible work.
