The Royal Free Charity supports staff and patients across the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. From small acts of kindness to huge investments in research, everything we do changes lives for the better. We support our hospitals to go further, faster – delivering impact locally and globally.

Story

On 26th September 2023 Dad passed away peacefully, 5 months after being diagnosed with advanced adrenal cancer.

In his memory, Tom and Anna will be running the London Marathon in support of the Royal Free Charity. Dad spent 5 weeks in the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead in April and May 2023. During this time we found out the devastating news about Dad’s diagnosis. Hospitals and the staff that work in them are under a huge amount of pressure and this charity provides vital support for the patients and the staff that work there. We are so grateful for the Royal Free Charity as it was responsible for some of our most uplifting moments during a very dark time. The charity organises therapy dog visits to patients. Dad was visited by a very greedy little dog called Stanley who never failed to put a smile on his face. As well as supporting patients, the Royal Free Charity provides vital support for the wellbeing of the staff by providing emotional support sessions, rest spaces and mental health first aiders. Additionally, the charity is funding world-leading research into revolutionary treatments and therapies for patients. Any donations will help to continue providing patients and staff with support at the times they need it most.

Thank you for any donations and support you can give.
