UK Morocco High Atlas 22nd June 2026 Student · 22 June 2026 to 29 June 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Student Minds empowers students to build their own mental health toolkit. We also challenge the higher education sector, health sector, and government to make student mental health a priority. Together, we’re improving university communities so that no student is held back by their mental health.

Story

Hi everyone,

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving Page!

My name is Tom and I'm a 1st year undergraduate student at the University of Bath studying Sport and Exercise Science.

I've signed up to take on the highest peak in the High Atlas mountain range: Mt. Toubkal in Morocco. This adventure is partnered with Bath University Challenge Team, who as a group aim to raise over £100,000 for the amazing charity that is Student Minds - the UK's leading student mental health charity and my goal is to raise £1940.

As part of my fundraising I’ve signed up for the Bath Half Marathon, which I’m currently training for. I’ve also signed up for an 100km walk in 24 hours with a group of other members of the Bath Challenge Team.

1 in 3 students will experience mental health challenges during their time at university and thousands of students will drop out of university each year, with 1/3 of drop-outs due to mental health struggles. University can be an incredible time, but there are also lots of challenges to face: including academic stress, feeling homesick, loneliness and financial struggles. Student Minds is doing vital work to change this, by providing resources, advice and support to help students to manage their mental health throughout their studies.

I recently suspended my course at the University of Bath during the 24/25 academic year due to difficulty adjusting to university and following struggles with my mental health. Following this, I was left questioning whether university was right for me. Therefore, I understand how important it is to feel supported through your studies and how impactful the work of Student Minds is.

Please donate if you are able to, every donation will be very gratefully received and a little goes a long way to give students the support they need and to save lives of students who are struggling to cope with mental health struggles. If you can't donate then you can still help by sharing this page or by learning about how Student Minds works.

Let's work together to build a future where every student feels supported and no student feels alone, where mental health isn't a barrier to achieving success at university.

Thank you for your support!
