Story
10 July is the anniversary of the death in Afghanistan of Corporal Lee Scott - the inspiration for Scotty's Little Soldiers - set up by his wife Nikki after seeing the impact on their two young children.
So, Dominic O'Sullivan, Peter Golding, Dean Gray and Iain Cox (all ex RAF) - are brushing off the excuses and saddling up in various states of fitness to...
Ride from Scotty's HQ to the National Memorial Arboretum on 8 July to pay our respects to Lee and raise funds for Scotty's - his incredible legacy.
And because he was a cheeky soul....
...We're going to have a stab at riding back again.
Against better judgement.
Scotty's is a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people age 0-25 who have experienced the death of a parent, who served in the British Armed Forces - whether they died due to illness, accident, suicide, were killed in action or in any other way.
In Armed Forces Week the charity revealed a heartbreaking new stat that there are 2,100 newly bereaved military children EVERY year.
The promise the charity makes is that every bereaved Forces child should have access to:
1. the best emotional health and well-being support
2. outstanding development opportunities; and
3. the chance to smile again.
They can't do that without more cash.
- £20 can fund a voucher for a child to mark an anniversary of death and ensure they don't feel alone.
- £50 can fund a 121 emotional support session for a child or a parent.
- £1,000 can fund a respite break
