Tracey's fundraiser for North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund

Tracey Surtees is raising money for North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund
In memory of Brian Surtees
At the University Hospital of North Tees we like to go beyond what is funded by the NHS to our end of life care patients, who wish to remain in hospital whilst receiving care surrounded by their loved ones.

Story

In memory of my dad Brian Surtees, who received a peaceful and dignified end in July 2025, in the Oasis Room at North Tees Hospital.

The room offers loved ones a comfortable place to stay with their special person, receiving end of life care. The room we stayed in (there are currently five) are large and airy, with extra beds for relatives to stay , large windows, different light settings, lots of comfortable seating, free TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a refrigerator and on-suite with a walk in shower.

It meant we could spend precious time with dad, in a quiet area, whilst still receiving great nursing and palliative care.

Being with him until the very end was of huge comfort in the days after his death.

The Oasis rooms cost money to create and maintain and therefore, we wish any donations from dads funeral to be directed to this worthy cause.
