Story

Hi everyone 😊

I’d love to invite you to be part of something that has deeply impacted my life this year.

I'm serving as an intern with Faith in Schools in Newham, where we go into local primary and secondary schools to share the Christian faith in an engaging and meaningful way. I’m truly so grateful for this opportunity—not only has it helped me grow in confidence, especially speaking and serving in English which is not my first language, but more importantly, it has helped me come to know and experience more deeply how much God loves us.

Through events like the Life Expo, Christmas Journey and Easter Experience, I’ve been able to step out of my comfort zone again and again. It hasn’t always been easy, but through encouragement and practice, I’ve grown in confidence and joy in serving children.

Faith in Schools is a local Christian education charity working with over 26,000 children and young people of all faiths and none across Newham. The team delivers free lessons to over 50 schools and partners with 50+ local churches, yet all this is made possible by a team of fewer than 3 full-time staff, supported by volunteers and prayer.

I’ve seen how this work connects people. Schools are welcoming these opportunities, children are engaging with faith in a positive way, and churches are becoming more connected with their local communities. Even in my own church, more people are becoming aware of school ministry and are interested in getting involved.

On Saturday 13th June 2026, I’ll be taking part in the “Living Water Sponsored Walk” around Newham churches and schools to raise funds for this work.

🚶‍♀️ The walk is 10 miles long, following the ‘blue’ route along the River Lea, Bow Creek and the River Thames, crossing King George V Dock to Gallions Point Marina.

📍 Start point: Timber Lodge, 1A Honour Lea Avenue, E20 1DY

🕙 Time: 10am

As everything is provided free to schools, fundraising is essential to continue reaching so many young people.

Our goal is to raise at least £10,000 💧

If you feel led to support, I would be so grateful if you could:

• Sponsor me — every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference

• Join the walk and be part of the journey

• Pray for the children, schools, and this ongoing work

Help us continue this work so that pupils can keep meeting Christians and visiting churches as part of their learning.

Thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement—it truly means a lot to me 💛
