Story
On Saturday 2nd September myself and Ali are attempting the Rat Race Man V Mountain challenge for Harry's Hydrocephalus Awareness Trust (Harry's Hat) Man V Mountain is a 35k (22 miles) run starting at Caernarfon Castle and will weave our way to the summit of Snowdon and down the other side. From there we will enter the old slate quarries of Dinorwic where we will face an array of action packed obstacles, including the infamous vertical kilometre a kayak stage, a walk the plank quarry jump and a water slide into Lake Padarn.
Harry's Hydrocephalus Awareness Trust (Harry's HAT) was founded by the family and friends of baby Harry. After Harry was diagnosed his parents learnt that there was no cure for hydrocephalus. Only invasive surgery and, in Harry's case, the insertion of a permanent shunt.
Harry's family & friends wanted to change this so formed the charity. The charity's primary aim is to make life better for children with hydrocephalus and families who love and care for them.
To date they have helped over 400 families and funded numerous research grants and training grants for the amazing healthcare professionals.
This is by far the biggest challenge I’ve ever attempted and would be so grateful for any donations, no matter how small because every little helps.
Please check out their website www.harry-hat.org to see the amazing work they do.
Many thanks
Tracy
