Story

To celebrate and support 41 years of SSNAP, I will be tube surfing to 40 London Underground stations whose names start with either S, N A or P and finishing my journey at station 41, St PANcraS!

I'll travel through over 100 London Underground stations and get off at 41 special stations for a selfie, I'm planning my route now and think it will take around 8 ½ hours, all on one day during my summer holidays. SSNAP suggested I do something wacky - I thought this was so bonkers and fun, and I love the Tube.

SSNAP was founded in 1982 and and is celebrating 41 years of supporting newborns and their parents when they most desperately need it. The Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford can care for up to 56 babies at any one time and is a Level 3 Centre supporting the most sick and premature babies from across the Thames Valley. When a newborn needs specialist, often lifesaving, medical care at birth, it can be a traumatic time for parents. SSNAP are here to support families in so many loving, supportive and practical ways.

My fundraising goal is £410, if there is any way you can help me reach my target and support SSNAP with spare pennies from your pocket money, I would be very grateful.

Thank you!

In the UK, 1 in 10 babies need specialist care at birth. SSNAP supports sick & premature babies and their families in the Newborn Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Imagine your newborn baby needing specialist care at birth. Instead of those very special days getting to know your baby as a family, you’re catapulted into an unfamiliar world of incubators, wires, medical tests and interventions. While your baby has specialist treatment, we provide emotional and practical support to help you through the trauma & upheaval. We’re there to help families cope, and provide state-of-the-art medical equipment and nursing expertise that could save babies lives.
