The United Nations Association (UNA) Luton are fundraising for the Nepal Floods Appeal through Action Aid.

A catastrophic flood struck Nepal’s Rasuwa district on 26 August after an intense surge of water entered the Bhotekoshi river and rapidly travelled downstream through the Trishuli river corridor.

Over 750 people have died and more than 3,000 people are reported missing. Approximately 317,000 people have been impacted and at least 40,000 people have been displaced. The numbers keep increasing!

Entire communities are experiencing extensive destruction, with homes, markets, bridges and roads washed away or severely damaged.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and the scale of the disaster is only just unfolding. Action Aid and their partners are providing emergency shelter, food, safe water, along with medical and protection services, especially for women and children, who are in urgent need.
