In case anyone is wondering – dancing is so much harder than it looks!!

Every year us proud Mummies watch our daughters on stage at the Radlett Centre Theatre – their smiles beaming!

Back in September Vanessa put a message out to ask for volunteers to perform a Mum & Daughter dance at this year’s dance show to raise vital funds for Fight for Life – to help children suffering with cancer.

Some Mums saw this and thought this could be fun, others of us suffered weeks of begging and pleading from our daughters to risk humiliating ourselves (and potentially them too) on stage.

At the first rehearsal 10 of us showed up and we all realised this was going to be a huge challenge. You don’t just have to remember the steps (which is enough of a challenge), but you have to perform them in time to the music whilst smiling. We are also dancing with our daughters who make it look effortless and we need to try and keep up with them.

We rehearse together every Monday night (and at home with our daughters). Most of us are filled with dread and fear at the thought of performing, live 4 times on a big stage in a proper theatre. We are absolutely terrified and all that is motivating us is that we are doing this for the most amazing charity.

University College Hospital London has a specialist children's radiotherapy unit in the country and it's vital to their treatment. Fight for Life current projects include helping to raise money for much needed equipment for the kid’s playroom / waiting room. This is vital to both the children and the parents at such a gruelling time and can make a real difference to families going through the most distressing of times .
