Vermilion The Smile Experts are raising money for Fresh Start, a fantastic Edinburgh-based charity helping people who have been homeless get settled in their new homes.

Fresh Start began in 1999 when a group of people from Edinburgh’s churches came together to find a way of tackling homelessness. Their mission is to ‘help people make a home for themselves’.

From starter packs to cooking classes, each year Fresh Start help thousands of new tenants settle into their homes. This can only be achieved by the hard work of their volunteers and the generosity of the donations they receive.

We will be kicking off our money-making mission on Sunday 26th May when 3 teams of our amazing staff and clinicians will be getting their running shoes on and taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon Hairy Haggis Team Relay! The 26.2 miles is split into 4 legs, with each team member running one leg (all except our unbelievable Dr David Treagus who is actually taking on the whole thing!). This is a huge physical challenge for all our runners taking part, and they will be training hard for the next 10 weeks.

… and we’re not stopping there!

On Friday 21st June the Vermilion team will also be taking on the immense challenge that is the 7 hills of Edinburgh Hike (Arthurs Seat, Blackford Hill, Braid Hill, East Craiglockhart Hill, Corstorphine Hill, Castle Rock, Calton Hill, and everything between). With around 27km of walking and 700m of climbing, it’s certainly no walk in the park!

However much you can spare, your valuable donation will go to Fresh Start to help towards breaking the cycle of homelessness in Edinburgh.
